As a child Foster developed a strong interest in drawing and has been fortunate to have been involved in art his entire life. At seventeen he joined the art department of a lithograph company. He was drafted in World War II where he did poster and propaganda work, then returned to the lithography company, after the war. At the age of 30 he decided to try freelancing and did many illustrations for school and religious books.
Foster is a very versatile artist. He is as adept at landscapes and still life as he is portraiture and has painted many portraits of many prominent business and government figures. |
