"I am a contemporary romantic painter. My pastels reflect an emotional response to the way I see landscapes. In each work I strive to create a mood which echoes the mystery, beauty, and peace I observe. As these special locations are disappearing from our environment, my paintings are a personal attempt to preserve the impression of these places for future generations."

. Native of Beacon Falls, CT., attended local schools. Graduated from Naugatuck High School in Naugatuck,
CT.
Barbara studied three years at the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT where she was introduced to painting by Prof. Francis Coburn.
Studied Painting with Camilia Egas at the New School in NYC with a full scholarship.
Studied Portraiture with Clifford Jackson, Daniel Greene, Claudia Post, Dan Gheno, Mary Beth Mackenzie and Paul Lavelle.
Studied Landscape Painting with Bruce Raven, Charles Morvalli, Elizabeth Mowrey and Albert Handel.
Received a BS and an MS from Southern CT State University and a Sixth Year in Independent Studies in Studio Art from Central CT State University.
