. Artist Anne Heywood is known for creating moods and feelings with her realistic emotional style, painting modern and traditional landscapes, still lifes, and pet portraiture. Her work is appreciated for its sensitive creativity and color transitions, as well as its energy, reflecting her New England roots and the twelve years she lived in Italy.

Heywood is the recipient of many honors and awards, most recently the 2012 Dr. Adrian Tinsley Award for Achievement in the Arts from Bridgewater State University (MA). In 1997 she received the 1st Convention Cover Award from the International Association of Pastel Societies, and in 2005 was inducted into their Masters Circle. In 2003 her book, Pastels Made Easy, was published by Watson-Guptill Publications, NYC. Both her writings and paintings have been published in international books and magazines such as Australian Artist Magazine and The Best of Sketching and Drawing. In 2007, she was honored by the company Great American Art Works with their Anne Heywood Masterclass Assortment set of soft pastels.

Heywood is a signature and founding member of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Connecticut Pastel Society, and an artist member of the Copley Society, the Salmagundi Club, and the National Association of Women Artists. Her educational background includes a B. A., Art summa cum laude. She is listed in Who's Who in America.

Heywood works in her studios in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and Waldoboro, Maine. She accepts commissions for custom paintings and pet portraits, and offers workshops, presentations, and demonstrations privately and to various professional art and social organizations. Her works can be found in both national and international corporate and private collections.
